Returns and Exchanges Policy

This is an English translation of the original Exchange and Returns Policy published in Spanish. In the event of any discrepancy between the two versions, the Spanish version shall prevail.

Sapiens.lat does not sell products or provide services through this site. The contributions received in the donations section are donations, a gratuitous act governed by the Peruvian Civil Code, as detailed in our Terms and Conditions for Donations. For this reason, there is no such thing as a “product exchange”: no good or service is provided in return for the donation that could be exchanged for another.

We do have equivalent mechanisms in place, designed to protect the Donor against billing errors and to give them control over their recurring donations.

One-Time Donations

If a duplicate charge occurs, an error in the amount charged compared to what the Donor authorized, or a charge not authorized by the cardholder that is duly substantiated, Sapiens reviews the issue and processes the corresponding refund. The request must be submitted in writing to contacto@sapiens.lat. Full details are set out in Section X of our Terms and Conditions for Donations.

Monthly (Recurring) Donations

The Donor may change the amount of their monthly donation or cancel it at any time, without needing to give a reason, by writing to contacto@sapiens.lat. Cancellation applies going forward: it does not entitle the Donor to a refund of charges already made prior to cancellation, except in the error scenarios described in the previous section. Regarding Simple Change of Mind

Since it is not a purchase, a confirmed donation is not reversed simply because the Donor changes their mind, absent an error or an unauthorized charge. This protects the voluntary and final nature of the contribution, and is consistent with how Peruvian law treats donation contracts.
