July 28th, Peru’s Independence Day. A man loses his memory. A grandmother tries to heal him from forgetting. Yet memory runs deeper. More than 70% of peruvian DNA has Indigenous ancestry, according to the National Geographic Genographic Project. Long before the Republic, long before any modern government, the people now called peruvians had already inhabited these ecosystems for thousands of years. We are older than the State, wiser than any government, and more resilient than any crisis.
That story was built through sleepless nights, scenes filmed at 3°C, and countless script revisions shaped by everyday conversations. It reached 2 million views in its first 24 hours, sparking thousands of comments about identity and memory.
